Across from Room 61 sits the choir classroom. And if you happen to walk by at the right time, you may catch them in song. This year, the choir family traveled, sang, and spread joy. “The choir did really great this year. We had a lot of exciting events happen…

we went to Hawaii and performed,” choir teacher Ms. La Face said. “It’s been a fun year.” The team did four concerts, most notably on their trip to Hawaii. They had planned a performance, but instead had the chance to take lessons with a professor and learn about Hawaiian history.
Jolene Lindder-Pulliam, the choir president, said, “I learned that it’s definitely a family, and your family can consist of more than just your blood relatives. It can consist of friends, teachers,

and just a whole community of arts that are just coming together to make one common outcome.” La Face said, “I’m a firm believer that the arts are super important, whether it’s visual art, performing arts, or writing arts… whatever it is, finding your niche on campus is really important.” The choir has 31 students between Madrigals, the advanced choir, and Acapella group. “I have a lot of students who tell me that choir is why I come to school. Academics are obviously very, very important, but you need to have something that enriches your soul, and that’s what the arts do.”
