As the 2025-26 school year comes to an end, the SBHS Forge highlights the amazing athletes that walk amongst us.
“Boys water polo had a good run, making it to CIF, and we finished higher in the league than we had in past years. This year we had a great group of seniors that had a good final year despite our goalie being out for the entire year,” says Coach Walsh, coach for both girls and boys water polo as well as swim.
The girls’ team also had an amazing season. Their first game was on November 18, 2025, against cross-town rivals, Dos Pueblos. They lost 6-15 but were able to make their comeback the next day against Thousand Oaks, winning 18-10. This was the start of their 12-game winning streak. The girls’ team advanced to CIF finals against La Serna, losing 5-11, as well as to the first round of State Finals, finishing in Division 2.
When asked about the swim team, Coach Walsh said, “We got fifth place in the league, we had a few outstanding younger players on our swim team this year. Jules Horton and Elisa Hine had really good seasons; they represented us at CIF. Our senior boys really led us for swim, Oliver Kelly, Calvin Nelley, Lorenzo Russell, and Jack Fulbeck also advanced to CIF.” Everyone at SBHS is excited and proud of what the future holds for graduating Dons and for the upcoming seasons next school year.
