This year, Santa Barbara has seen students walking around with goggles strapped to their heads, bedazzled squirtguns laying around, and has heard rumors about recent “attacks.” This is all a part of Senior Assassin, the five-week-long game where seniors compete for the ultimate victory and cash prize of $1,050. This year’s round has been nothing short of thrilling, with surprises, deceptive eliminations, and in the end, two winners.
The Senior Assassin winners this year were Olivia Arevalo and Zane Webb, also known as the “Waterrrr Thoseee”. This duo was unstoppable as the weeks progressed as they continued eliminating pair after pair. According to Webb, “The highlight was definitely getting people out… My favorite elimination was following Jacob Copley and eliminating him during the purge week.” Webb also noted that it was fun to become better friends with Arevalo, enjoy new experiences, and win some money.
For Arevalo and Webb, Senior Assassin was a memorable way to finish out their senior year at SBHS.
From creative strategies to deceptive eliminations, Senior Assassin gave the class of 2026 a shared experience that kept everyone entertained until the last weeks of school. Though the game created plenty of competition, it also strengthened the senior class and helped to build relationships throughout the graduating class.
