Joanne Liskin Cloutier has been The Forge adviser and SBHS journalism teacher for the past six years. As a 26-year teaching veteran, she brings a wealth of experience in and outside the classroom. Before teaching, she worked in advertising and journalism in New York City and Boston. In her free time, she enjoys recruiting for her undergraduate alma mater, Smith College, teaching Sunday School to 3rd graders at CBB, walking her samoyed puppy, Avalanche, on the beach, and following local jam bands all over the U.S. She is currently serving on the SoCal JEA Board of Directors as the Tri-Counties rep (Santa Barbara/Ventura/Kern counties). Her goal for the SBHS journalism program is to enhance course offerings that attract young journalists and to provide comprehensive coverage of school and community events.
