SBHS’s boys lacrosse team had an extraordinary season this year, taking home the title of Co-Channel League Boys Lacrosse Champions with their rival team, Dos Pueblos, for the first time in program history. The team has been in good hands this season, with seniors Liam Hickey and Dane Polchin serving as captains, and John Keogh, Scott Palmer, and Cotter Stern as their coaches. They ended the season 12-3, which is the best record they have ever had, and players from SBHS were celebrated at the all-league awards for their exceptional performance. It is safe to say that the boys’ lacrosse team has made all of SBHS proud, and they have a lot to live up to next season.
Santa Barbara High School’s girls lacrosse team fought a long and hard battle in the 2026 season. Though the girls did not take home as many wins as they hoped, they continued to show up and refused to go down without a fight. One of the highlights of the year was their game against Thacher, where they took home a refreshing 10-7 win.
The season came to an end for the girls’ team when they lost 15-2 in a hard match against their rival school, San Marcos. Now, the girls are mentally preparing for the upcoming season. “I think next year, we can really apply everything that we’ve learned, and we’re all gonna work super well together. I think we have a good shot at the playoffs next year,” summed up Team Captain Liliana Aguilar.
